Orby has called 3 times now checking to see how the service is going. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Good that they want to take care of customers. Maybe bad there not running around with there hair on fire adding countless subs everyday and have time to call new customers.

I haven't received a single call or email. It is difficult to check on my billing information. So I chatted with them today - they followed with an email. Their web site needs some TLC!
But no calls what so ever.

I got a call Friday asking how i liked and if i had any opinions or questions....i askd how many subscribers...she said about 100

If they really only do have about 100 subscribers, don’t look for them to be around very long. They’ve been up for at least four to six weeks. Adding 25 customers per week is unsustainable, unless they have someone just giving them operating funds, and they don’t care about any return.

Wow, I must know 1/2 of their subs rivers! LOL.

I have a gut feeling that number is incorrect. Was talking with a manager at the local Best Buy last week and his store had sold 10 units. True???

He was asking if I knew what local tech had the install contract and was interested in installing himself. :)

I hope that that number is incorrect, and they have many more subscribers. I would like to see them succeed and expand their offerings.

Each store is only getting two units at a time.

I almost picked one up today as I got some Best Buy certificates for Christmas. But I probably wouldn’t subscribe for more than a month as I have Dish and Directv already.

Best Buy has 1500 stores give or take 10.

So 10 units per store is 15,000 units sold.

I think they need affiliates to help them spread the word, or else they won't survive. It's going to be very hard to compete with Dish & DirecTV, since they have already established a huge foothold on the market. I think they also need to reconsider not selling DIY kits so people can install for themselves. I think they have under estimated how many people are capable of installing them on their own.

You have to remember, people that visit this forum can install themselves, the general public, today in 2019, I doubt 20% can even figure out how to install an outdoor TV antenna, much less aim a satellite antenna. Their technical support lines would be flooded.

From my local Best Buy.

The dvr box is so much larger than the regular receiver.

There are people today who actually think free TV via an OTA antenna is illegal. So yeah, I'd say that figure is closer to 5%!

I don't think it's not that they can't do it, they just don't want to. Biggest excuse I hear is "I don't have the time", but yet they have the time to wait around for someone else to install...

not only that, they don't realize most of the OTA is HD either, some of it actually looks better off the OTA antenna in IMHO
