I thought this migh tbe a bit of a wake up call and perhaps a bit fun too. Consider cable, DBS, internet access and cell phones or blackberry devices, what do you spend a month on these technologies. Here's my line up:

1. Cell phone - $115 (heavily used for work aprox. 2000 primetime mins a month)
2. VaVaVOom - $115 (primary residence)
3. Adelphia HD Cable plus HiSpeed Internet - $95.00 (primary residence)
4. Adelphia HD Cable - $50.00 (secondary residence)
5. Bellsouth DSL - $45.00 (secondary residence)
6. Wife's cell phone - $36.00

Damn, that's $456.00 a month....

Something's wrong in joyville!

(edit: added OT to subject line)

Chime in with your totals...

Cell phone $60.00 mostly for work
Wife cell phone- 40.00 she rarely uses
comcast hi speed Cable modem- 47.00
Comcast local tv only- 8.00
Vavoom- 94.00

249 seems like too much to me...

Voom 107.70 (way over priced)
Cell ...FREE through my employer
Internet 49.95 COX cable (ouch)
Total 157.65

Cell phones - $95 (shared 800 minutes)
VooM - $67 (Starz Plus Pack and illegal taxes)
Broadband cable - $52
Lifeline cable - $10

That's only $224, however in the last month we purchased (ok, I purchased): A/V receiver, motherboard, upgraded 2nd computer, Mitsubishi DLP for granny (my share), cell phone, digital camera...I just started crying when I added up the total. :river

Yikes!!!

Voom - basic $52
Verizon phone, unlim calling in US+DSL - $87
total $139 ouch (for me)

which is why it'll get tougher when voom raises prices.

Sprint: 85 (1000 Mins + Add a Phone)
Earthlink Cable Internet: 42
Time Warner Basic Cable: Free ($35 Value)
Voom: Cancelled

$75 Cell for wife and I both
$72 SBC DSL and local phone
$95 Voom
$16 Long distance (I should just drop this one all together and use the cell) Besides, does this one even count?
--------------------
$258

After I drop the long distance phone, I still spend a bunch on services but each is worth every penny! I just don't understand how some have so many problems with Voom. However I am a little pissed about the olympics, no biggie though.
