Wilt,
After the addition of Livewire to HDNews (and even few days before), there has been some reports at SatGuys of some members (myself included) that can only see the top 3/4 of the HDN logo and the first line of text in the news ticker on the bottom. The second line of text is cut off and only the very tops of the letters are visible.
Some people have reported improvement after resetting the STB, but not everybody.
See this thread: http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=18768
Do you have any info on this?

Thanks,
Walter

RE: [VOOM] Overscan on HDNews? Wilt?

Looks off to me too, actually.
I'll get it checked.
Wilt

Overscan

I noticed (the other day) the overscan on HDNews looked better, not perfect but better. I used to not be able to read the names of the cities across the top when they did the weather but I can read them now. Still needs a little tweaking but it's looking better.

The Rickster

Actually, tonight I watched HDNews for 20 minutes or so and it is looking better. I can see the tops of all weather maps and the HDN logo is fully visible again. I haven't seen the news ticker tonight so I can't comment on that yet, but everything else is looking much better. Nice job!

:)

Yes, the logo position is better in the vertical, but still slightly offscreen in the horizontal-------

A small part of the "N" is still offscreen---

This morning both the logo and the Livewire ticker looked OK in my screen. Anybody else still having problems?
Wilt, can you confirm that it was fixed?

Mine looks great Wilt, but on some channels like Worldsport and HBO it seems as if the top of the screen is being cut off by a few inches.

Other people have told me that it is my TV's overscan....I dont' know

I know the blue box on Worldsport is at the VERY top of the screen with no space.

THe Orange scoreboard on Worldsport is off to the left and a little high.

RE: [VOOM] Overscan on HDNews? Wilt?

It was readjusted, yes.

The one thing that annoys me is how far to the left some of the yellow worldsport scoreboards are. My set just will not display that last 1/4 inch or so on the left decently. NO matter how much I play with the overscan area. (maybe with a 300 dollar calibration) It sure would be nice to move that scoreboard over to the right about 1/2 inch. The blue scoreboard is fine. the yellow ones are too close to the edges.
