huh I've been saying that for a long time but it always fell on deaf ears.

Sorry but posting links constantly with nothing added to the post does NOT bring in discussion. I guess if someone keeps seeing links to dslforums or whatever it is maybe they should just stay there and get the info and discussion there

Actually post like that were encouraged by the search engines.

But now they changed and want content over links.

I am sure in the big world of SEO they will change things again somewhere down the road.

And the goal is for other threads to not be over-whelmed by link threads. Case in point, a link thread in the Video Game Forum had three quick replies, and was the type that there was interest. So I created a new thread for it. Encouraging an actual discussion. It is an experiment, and hopefully will succeed.

Some are probably leery about clicking on links, so it doesn't surprise me, others want straight to the point or a interested part of that news, instead of going to the links and search around if that news statement is long,

Or others don't see any popularity or replies in that specific thread but it's only viewed.
