Okay, I'm officially impressed. We got in two new HP servers for me to set up before the Vendor installs their software and so I was being my usual curious George. These servers were configured with dual power supplies in each and so I popped one out to verify the server stayed up with one P/S missing in action.

I did not expect the following:

I'm not sure how good the upload PQ is with the SatGuys App, but this little P/S brick is:
a) 250 Watts
b) 450 Watts
c) 900 Watts
d) 1,000 Watts

Answer: c. This puts out 380 Vdc @ 2.5 Amps and 3.3 Vdc @ 100 mAmps. HP rates it at 900 Watts. That's with using 220 V AC which most of the server cabinets we have use.

Even more impressive is the server boasts two hex-core Xeon processors (2.6 GHz) 16 GB of RAM, 2TB of RAID SAS storage in 1U, and draws about 100 Watts from 110 VAC. Lots of headroom in the power department. Of the 16 available DIMM slots, we're using two. I think it supports 32 GB DIMMs, too, for a possible total of 512 GB!
