[VOOM] Re: DISH Network Local HD Channels?

Interesting comments.

I will be going with Adelphia HD as of 4/30 since Direct or Dish
doesn't seem to cut it. I'm not thrilled with Adelphia either but I
got a good deal with them since I already have internet service with
them too. So, for an additional $30 month I get all the digitial
channels, 3 locals in HD,HD Net(ESPN, Discovery and a few more) and HD
Net+, HBO-HD plus a DVR that will record in HD too. Not bad saying
that it was costing me close to $80/month with Voom.

But don't get me wrong, adelphia HD is no Voom.

Will be moving house in August so will see what options are available
then.

Dave.

Re: [VOOM] Re: DISH Network Local HD Channels?

Later in the year as the new model sets come out and
more and more have the digital tuner included the
price of all the dvrs will come down. With over the
air reception of HD being the best way to get it The
cable companies know they have to convert all channels
to HD. Verzion was in todays paper that they will
carry video of local channels on their new fiber
network. They will also carry the sd channels along
with the hd channel. With fiber there is unlimited
bandwith. The only problem is negotiating price for
the content. As most know that monday night football is
moving to ESPN. Disney plans to raise the rates for
espn and so the sub will pay for content right through
the nose.

Unlimited bandwidth?

Fiber is nice, but it doesn't quite work that way.
