Originally Tivo announced a stand-alone and the DirecTV unit. The DirecTV
unit took off and the Stand-Alone was killed. It seems noone wants a DVR
that can only record OTA. More likely would be a cable-card version which I
would love to see, however I have heard nothing of such a beast. I miss my
Tivo, but I cancelled it when I got Voom since it couldn't tune the OTA HD
channels on my sat receiver.

I was also told that as well. In addition I was told by June they
would have a stand-a-lone, not networked version that they could get
out sooner.

Do you know if Tivo is coming out with there own HD DVR that is not
solely for Direct TV.? It would be nice to have the flexibility to be
abe to use such an expense unit with various sattelite and/or cable
providers.

Mitsubishi either has or soon will release their HD-6000, a cable-card unit.
Google "HD-6000" and you'll find the specs on it.

Robert
