Recording past Primtime

So, tonight after the AFC game, I knew that H50 was going to get cut short on CBS in the Primetime recordings. We do have it set to record the series, but still had that feeling. So I went to that channel it was on, and I hit the record button to extend the timer by an hour, and it should that it was extending it to 11pm, but it didn't and I lost the last 15min or so...

My ? is, in case this happens again, what means do I have to fix it if the show is already being recorded?

Oh, and of course, you know CBS did this on purpose, they have such class

The easiest way to extend past primetime is to set a timer for the next show (the news) the you will get the whole show split between the two recordings.
