Just to provide an update on the original question... the very first Dish CSR that I chatted with involved his supervisor, and I suppose the leverage I bring as a new customer was enough for them to place a special order for 2 hoppers and 1 joey. They did mention along the way that it was a little difficult to pull off on their end, but I guess not impossible (or so they said). The process beginning to end did take a very long time. Ultimately the second hopper cost me $199 up front, but I'm OK with that given the extra flexibility it brings us and how we think we'll use it. Installation is scheduled for the 14th, so we'll see what happens then. Appreciate everyone's contribution to the discussion.
