I am getting a 500 Gig ext. drive for my 622, also I am replacing my 622 w/722 soon. Is it possible to activate the ext Hard Drive copy a few programs I want to keep from the 622 then upgrade to the 722. Or would I be better waiting till after I get my 722 to activate the Ext HD?

Thanks,
Brad

Get it now, move recordings over to external. Then you can move them onto the ViP722 if you wish. System currently allows 3 moves between sat boxes. Later, we should see unlimited sharing between ViPs on a single account.

We should, but what if they don't lift that restriction and have 3 defective 622's? The content will be rendered useless, right?

Dish can override it, or so I've read.

I'd worry more about getting hit by a runaway pickle truck, to put it in perspective.

After you move the content back to the new 722, plug the HD in to your computer and format it. Then when you move it back to the 722 and it formats the HD again, the counter will start over.
