vanderlyle, if you are in UK and if you are going to buy on-line, make sure the GPS unit comes with (or is upgradable to) UK maps. ;)

Good point! The Nuvi 255 has a European model.

Garmin is certainly a good name. Magellan is good, perhaps a step down but also less expensive. At the lower end, I know of people happy with their TomToms.

BTW, that link is not working for me right now. Make sure you're buying from someone reputable.
