For most receivers, a normal blind scan typically locates the channels on a satellite at a pretty quick pace, so there is a chance that some or several channels may have been missed in the blind scan. If there are more channels on a satellite that you want to get in the Ku band for example that you know you don't already have, merely enter in the transponder information into your receiver and have it scan that transponder. It will search through that transponder at a slightly slower pace and maybe bring in the missing channels. Otherwise, the receiver may return with no results, meaning that the signal might be too weak for your dish or receiver to pick up, or not broadcasting.
