this poses several questions for me...what is sample rate and bit depth of sat data?...how good is d/a convertor in my black generic xmd 1000 box? is it worthwhile to get digital output adapter for sat receiver and feed into digital input of sound card ? what comes out of sound card analog ? digital? if digital then what are specs of data...is it better to save wave files ( storage is cheap) then convert to mp3 later using musicmatch etc?? is there any reason to save final files in some format better than source material...i know this is a lot but u guys seem pretty smart abt this stuff...if reply would be too time consuming just ignore this and i will continue to live in darkness... thanks for taking the time to read this
