I don't know if this is the best forum to ask my questions. Seems I have many issues. I used to be pretty well versed in this setup topic, but it's been quite a few years since I toyed with it. I have a 10foot mesh dish with a dual LNB feed horn. I have a Linkbox 9000i drivin by a Gbox mover. I have an Aspen Eagle 770Ku LNB and a Precision PMJ-LNB for Cband.

I can get no signal when moving the dish across the arc. (I know, that could be a number of things) How can I tell if the LNB is functioning (I'm guessing it isn't) However neither is sending a signal to my receiver. It should be noted that both LNB's are hardly used and used to work fine.

well, there are a few things to check:
- Look (carefully) at the inside of the feedhorn and check for wasp nest or similar obstructions
- check the connections.
- you mention the receiver, the G-box and 2 LNBs. So i'm guessing that you have a switch somewhere. That would be a somewhat likely point of failure, more likely than 2 LNBs going bad. Try bypassing the switch with a barrel connector and see what happens.
- Could be simply that the dish is no longer aligned... I doubt the elevation/declination would have gone bad, but the a mount could have yielded a bit to some high winds by rotating on the pole.

all this troubleshooting and possibly realignment of the dish would be greatly simplified if you could bring the receiver, a TV and the G-box close to the dish, with temporary connections.

Thanks. I think it's an excellent idea to get close to the dish (that is going to take some doing, but I'll make a plan to do that). I will try to bypass my switch first. Biggest issue is getting some TV time from my wife.

I've isolated the connection (removed the switch) and connected the Cband lnb to my receiver. I have to manually scan the arc using my Gbox. Could you suggest a satellite and transponder to use for tracking?

That makes it hard to get your true south setup. I agree the mount more than likely moved on the pole. Looks like you will need to find a active TP on 87 west and move the mount on the pole. with you vbox aiming at it. But first mark the pole, mount relationship so you can go back if needed.

How many power supplies do you have powering up your 18v lnbs. Older lnbs require 18vdc at about .75 amps for each lnb and the receiver cannot supply it says no signal. LNBfs are required for most newer dvbs receivers. Like THE titanium C1PLL or any other they can run at .5 amp and not break receivers.

Just an fyi. 99W C-Band will blow the signal meter up to the top. It's strong!
Also considering switches and such are you able to determine if you're getting 13/18 VDC at the coax lnb terminal?
Also I believe the Linkbox is primarily an FTA receiver that is a few years old, so what channels you get to come in is in the ethers although you should be able to use the signal meter and see sat ID and lock. I have an 8000 here so let me know how you do and I could hook it up in a few minutes.

I can get no signal when moving the dish across the arc.

This is not like C- Band, just moving the dish across the arc to find the signal, the Linkbox needs a few seconds to lock the digital signal! And if it is not tuned to the right signal, on that sat , it does not see that sat!

The dish mover moves it too fast, the best thing thig to do is to just bump it if you can get close!
