Hello all,
I currently have a Directv 4 receiver system, with a swm antenna. I have checked and my local channels seem to be coming from 99W TPN 2. I would like to have my local channels at my hunting cabin a few miles from my house but I don't really want to spend the money for another swm antenna setup. I have a couple of single lnb old directv antenna's, could I use one of those pointed at the 99W and hook my receiver up and get just the locals? Thanks for any info on this.

:welcome to Satelliteguys!

No, unfortunately you can't do that. The single lnbs can't receive the signals from the 99 or 103 satellites.

Clay,

How about just a regular "bow tie" antenna? There is a rig called a Square Shooter that looks like a square DTV dish but will pick up OTA signals....even HD from your local (now digital) feeds. Take a look at antennaweb.org.....they will specify an antenna and give lines to OTA stations.
