I'm thinking about getting a Sirius satellite radio systems instead of Sunday NFL ticket this year. Here is my dilemna:

I like to bet on live games at tradesports.com, and the local games always come in much faster through local radio and local television. My Sunday NFL Ticket feed from DirecTV had about a 3-5 second delay. The extra seconds mean a lot when trying to get a bet in before everyone else.

Has anyone compared the Sirius NFL broadcasts to their local radio and television broadcasts? I'm wondering what kind of delay there is, if any. Thanks for your help.

The Sportster Has Arrived

There is about a 10 second delay on Sirius. What I do is delay the Dish 921 about 2 seconds behind the Sirius broadcast to enable me to surf the web. This way I only look up at the TV if the Sirius broadcast (either of the home announcers) get excited.

As far as speculating on the outcome of a sporting event, the new Sirius Sportster PNP may help you out:

album_pic.php

* Game Alert
Prompts listener that their favorite NFL team is playing. S-Seek
feature can prompt for additional team games.

* Game Zone
Lists all of the games available and scores on SIRIUS by league (NFL,
NHL, etc.)

The receiver also includes a special "Jump" button feature that can be
programmed to instantly transfer you to any of your favorite channels,
including traffic and weather reports, or to take you to a game channel when
prompted.

Sportster Press Release

BTW this PNP is very small, It compares to the Audiovox PNP this way:

Audiovox PNP2: 5-1/4"W x 3-7/16"H x 2"D
Sportster: `4-3/8"W x 2-3/4" H x 1-1/8"D
