Ive never seen a Star Trek movie or TV show before and I enjoyed it. I didnt know who eveyone was at first, but I thought it was an enjoyable movie.

I can see why some of the younger generation liked it. You goof off, fight in bars and you cheat on test and get promoted to Captain with just about zero experience in space.

Yes, I hated it.
