Tailgater to dish

Hi all. I have a camp spot out by our local lake. I have 2 wallys with a tailgater dual out there but it seems every spring (and most of the summer) I fight reception. Other people in the campground have permanent dishes mounted but I am unsure of everything I would need to buy to install a fixed dish. I am mostly talking about switches and LNB's. Every time I discuss this with Dish or an installer they remind me it is a 2nd location so it requires a 2nd account. I already pay $150 a month and I only use them when it is raining on the weekends. It is a campground and I don't get mail there. Like I also said it is local (within 10 miles from my house). Any help?

That depends upon which arc you want to "hit". But in general, you would go with a DishPro Plus LNB with either 2 or 3 feedhorns for whichever arc you need, mounted on a 1000.2. There is no need for an external switch since a switch is built into the LNB assembly. But you would need 2 coaxes, one for each Wally.

Ok thanks! I already have a dual coax ran. I've seen 500 and 1000 kits on Ebay but just wanted to be sure before I ordered one. I am shooting the 119,129 sat's. Thanks so much for the information.

Where our wheels go
A 1000.2 dish with a western arc triple DPP LNBF will get the job done at a reasonable cost. You'll get the same channels you get at home. You'll need a pole or tripod and weight or tie-down for mounting. There may be someone at the campground with an existing dish that can help you aim it after the mount has been leveled.

I've been watching all these RV shows on GAC lately and I've yet to see any where they show someone mentioning they want satellite TV hookups before the purchase or have them setting it up after they buy their rig

Take a drive through a large RV park sometime and count how many satellite dishes you see. The most common will be the small dome style self aiming dishes in parks with a large transient clientele, with pole and tripod mounted full sized dishes more popular in parks with a large seasonal or permanent clientele. In the higher end parks, RV roof mounted self-aiming full sized dishes are also popular. Those RV shows on TV are designed for one purpose, to sell more RV's. They'd rather spend air time impressing viewers with how many TV's the RV has then where the TV signals come from for all those TV's.

Haha, yes...they always want an outdoor one, one on an elevator and a bigger one in the bedroom than in the living area
