Another movie of an old classic tv show, now some of them have had success but some of them have been very bad IMO.

I really grow tired of all the remakes but that trailer actually looks pretty good.

Agreed... Besides Adams Family (first one), A-Team, Superman and Batman movies....most "tiny to silver screens" blow!

21 Jump Street, Avengers, Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch etc.... all blew IMO

After "Get Smart" it is hard to take "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." seriously. The TV series was pretty lame in spots. And I don't think it would play well with a straight face

I think one of the worst series remakes for movies was Charlie´s Angels, and as you say not to be taken seriously not the first movie or the second,

Here I thought I Spy was the worst remake.

I actually thought the Man From Uncle trailer was pretty good. So hope the movie is decent.

A lot will depend on how well the actors can re-create the characters that are indelibly stamped with the personas of their originators: Robert Vaughn (Solo) and David McCallum (Illya). That's the boon and curse of series television: In the audiences' perception, the actors become the characters, and they are inseparable. The actors in the remakes not only must play the characters, but they must also play the actors who played the characters.

For some good examples of doing this well, in the rebooted Star Trek films, Zachary Quinto not only plays Spock but Leonard Nimoy playing Spock; and Karl Urban plays DeForest Kelley playing McCoy.
