I mounted a huge rat shack antenna and installed the 8VSB in my Dish 6000 HD receiver and when I go to add a digital channel it goes all the way to 100% green for 2 seconds, then 0% red and nothing. Is it failing to lock? I live 18 miles from the stations. Any way to adjust this?

too big. You can add something to reduce the signal strength or switch to a smaller antenna..........Channel Master 4221 or Atnennas Direct DB2

Or, go back to radio shack and get an attenuator. Cut the signal when you don't need it, keep the monster on the roof for when you do :)

I Agree with the attenuator. My thought was changing to an UHF only antenna that is smaller and a better performer.
But then again I still have my HUGE RS atenna on my roof becuase the shingles seem to be coated with AstroGlide and have an angle suited to mountian goats :D
