If I want to stream to my PS3, are there any settings in TVersity that I should be aware of and change to ensure the best picture quality?

I will look at mine when I get home for specifics; but bit rates and resolution maximums and the codec used.

Also having the best possible material to start with..

Sorry for the delay - I fell asleep when I got home. Here are my TVersity settings and I have zero issues with any media; video, images, MP3 or Sirius streaming. I hope it helps:

GENERAL:
Media Playback: AUTO

MEDIA LIBRARY:
Properties: all checked

TRANSCODER:
When = only when needed
Max video res = 1920 x 1080
Max image res = 4096×2160
Windows media = check for Direct Show
Optimization = quality
Connection speed & quality = wired 100 / high

I use TVersity too. Yea you can use Media Playback Device setting of Auto but I see they have specific setting for Sony Playstation 3 too. The software probably uses Sony Playstation 3 even in auto since that is what you have. It will tell you when your streaming something on your tv when look at TVersity's status section.

I have tried both and the auto vs PS3 mode offers no difference. So no reason to change it. And if you ever add another non-PS3 device; no worries.
