9636 says INSP
isnt that some type of religous channel like Inspirational Network
i know that i have family who had comcast and they had that channel and switched
to dish network and lost that channel.. if it is INSP the inspirational network i know they will be happy

In SD for Dish viewers. I guess 2 channels for MPEG2 HD receivers in 6200 range.

Dish is running 2 special HD Olympics channels that will be no longer be needed a few hours before the Dem Convention starts.

So, it seems probably that the HD feed will start around the end of the Olympics, and will likely be mapped to the same 211 channel number.

Both the 6200 channels are visible in my Guide, and I have vanilla AT250 + Dish-HD Ultimate.

Maybe they are moving the 9000 numbers to 6200 ?

i live in oregon and
noticed in the uplink report:
9369(37) - KRCW [MPEG2 SD] - EchoStar10 110W TP 27 Spotbeam 44 changed to Available (H)(Salem, OR)
but it is not viewable for me also the mapdown of that channel is actually 32

also i am curious where this came from i can see WSBK now on channel 38 now i have the SUPERSTATIONS package this is new never seen this mapdown before

Or (wishful thinking) is this the first step in converting the MPEG2 9000 HD channels into MPEG4...

They don't need to change the channel number to do that.

They changed the Voom MPEG2-HD channels to MPEG4-HD without changing the numbers.

Actually changing the channel numbers is a bigger change than changing from MPEG2-HD to MPEG4-HD - because all timers would fail because the channel would no longer exist at that number.

I'm pretty sure that the MPEG2-HD to MPEG4-HD change will be finished by September 1st. Probably the reason that it is not yet done is either because a few customers were not yet switched by installers, or more likely, that they are simply waiting for EchoStar 11 to arrive and will put the MPEG4-HD versions straight onto E*11.

Ah, that makes sense. Still learing how to read the uplink tea leaves ;)
