Good to see Some Scranton Wilkes Barre are added back. But where is WNEP 16. Must be fighting with Charlie?

It's a step in the right direction. Now they just need to switch them to HD!

WNEP E-mailed me a week ago saying they have had an agreement for their HD for quite some time and didn't know why it wasn't given to us yet. Weird.

Great they take down the MPEG-4 HD channels last week and this week uplink MPEG-4 SD channels instead! If they are going to have an MPEG-4 service why are they bothering with SD locals of the major stations? I know SD for minor stations for must carry where they will eventually have to have in HD, but if a market like Wichita Falls TX has just 4 stations, why uplink 4 SD channels instead of the 4 HD channels on an MPEG-4 ONLY system?

WNEP HD has been up but not available for some time.

Maybe we're supposed to be excited because it is "DIGITAL."

I'm having trouble seeing the point in adding MPEG-4 versions of our market's local channels in SD when we're already getting those SD channels in MPEG-2 from another satellite. It would only be significant if E* was phasing out all MPEG-2 SD local channels.

With those MPEG-4 SD channels added to the 61.5° satellite, does that mean that fiber optic cables or whatever infrastructure is required has been installed to link those local TV stations with the E* uplink centers (like Wichita Falls, TX stations being linked to New Braunfels, TX)? If the hardware has been put into place then it shouldn't be all that big a deal to have the HD versions of those channels follow.

Think Eastern Arc.

KBTV is for the Beaumont, TX area, not Sacramento. :D

Thanks for all of the information you provide. :up
