verizon promo

The keyboard is the problem and compared to android the touch screen is hard to use without a stylus.

hhhmmm, i use a stylus 90% of the time, maybe thats why i like it. its a solid phone, ive had 0 issues over the past 2 years, but it will be replaced in 2 weeks with a fascinate

When I stopped using it a year ago, I gave it to my kid as a PDA, he managed to lose the stylus. Now it is his phone and he is whining and moaning about how hard it is to text with the virtual keyboard. I keep telling him... if you had not lost the stylus... :)

I'll probably just put him on an old Treo; all he really cares about is texting, and the treo is perfect for that. He'd like my Droid 1, but I am not ready for him to really have a fully-powered hand-held internet device. Not at 13.

Oh... and enjoy your fascinate. I am 2 days away from my upgrade to a Droid X. Saturday can not come too soon!

So you are going with the Droid X for you? Let us know how it is without having a keyboard, because I use my slide out keyboard a lot.

ok its not exatly a stylus, but i usually have a click pen thats all plastic and works great, but i only send about 100 texts a year :)
its still subject to change as far as the model, im still looking for the best price

The rep said ? I'd do the math myself and see... I find it hard to believe it will down that much.

Actually, it did. I have two Droids on a FamilyShare plan. My old plan was as follows:

$119.99 - 1400 shared minutes w/text (89.99 w.25% corp discount)
$23.00 data plan for my phone (25% corp discount for first line)
$29.99 data plan for second phone

Average total was about $150 a month with taxes, etc.

New plan:

$139.99 - 1400 minutes w/texting and unlimited data for both phones. ($104.99 after 25% corp discount.)

So as you can see 150-105 is approximately $45 savings per month. I think you were confused with the savings per month because I didn't mention that I have a 25% monthly discount.

Somehow I got 3 phones for 18 cents more, and only an 18% corporate discount. Its a crap-shoot trying to figure this stuff out.

I almost never use the keyboard on the D1. I don't think there will be an issue at all. I thought about the D2, but I just love the screen on the DX. So vibrant.

He sends 100 texts in 2 or 3 days.

The problem with the Samsung Droid phones on Verizon is they have put bing on them, and you have to go out of your way to get back to the google experience. That in itself is a deal killer for me. Ironically they did NOT do that on the Galaxy Tab.

I do like that bottom banner rotation on the new Samsung - what is it - the Continuum? (too many devices out there for me to remember).

i did see that banner too, and liked it, but i havent looked at the actual phone yet, i need to do that this weekend
and the bing will be removed in 2.2 that is due out anytime, or you can flash it, which i may do since i will be rooting it

You guys are simply too latest gadget crazy. I just bought a new battery (for $6) for my 2 year old Voyager. Does all I need and no $20/mo dataplan.

As for my 13 yo. She has something with a flip out keyboard and no data. The only things she really cares about are texting and taking pictures.

Its not on Froyo yet? I don't get why they are still selling phones on 2.1.

I'll root the DX as well.
