VIP222 End Of Life

Aside from replacing defective 222's, there are no more 222 installs. Migrations from 322 are now given a 722 with DVR disabled

Moving forward, ViP 722 Receivers will be used for all exchanges and migrations on 322 and ViP 222 Receivers. Except for the 211, we have until 1/16 to clear out our VIP inventory (I'm going to get stuck with several of each). 222's are ok for new flex installs until the 16th as well.

We're going to get stuck with a few 222K's and a 722K but that's about it.

I watched the retailer chat but am still not clear whether we'll be able to use 211's after the January cut off on new accounts or just DIU's. Do you know the answer yet?

I really like the 211K's especially for old folks. It's simple and reliable. :)

Wally also works with the old remotes. I use an old 1.5 remote with my Wally occasionally.

But they don't come with old remotes. We have to use what comes in the box or else give the customer a different remote which would be out of pocket. We've done that several times in the past but it gets expensive quickly.

You might say the Wally is a 211Z with a UHF remote.
I wouldn't say that. The Wally is much better than a 211z. Unless things have changed recently, for OTA the 211z only supports the old single-tuner dongle, which can be hard to find. The Wally supports the new dual-tuner OTA dongle, and with the latest software, the Wally also has two satellite tuners enabled. So, twice the number of tuners as the 211z, for the same monthly cost.

It didn't specify it in the slates but based on Blake's language, I'm thinking, at least for now, we'll continue to use 211's as we have been.

I've all ways been a 211k fan. I still think the 211k was the best non-dvr receiver ever made for RV use (by either company). I do lots of RV work and try to keep several in stock at all times.

Might be time to draw down, just in case.

That's what we've done. We used at least 6 211K's in the past week and I think I only have 1 left. I'm wondering if we should buy some more in case we can continue to use them like it looks like might be the case.

Does DISH have an answer to DirectTv Now and other net apps?

Received software version U506 on my 2 Hopper3 receivers
