I have DSL Internet connection, also have a wireless router, any recommendations on connecting HR-23DRV to Internet. DSL Router is located to far from DVR for hard-wire connection. Any one use the DTV Internet connection kits??? The advertise two, (1) looks like it plugs into an AC outlet and the other is a wireless connection.. Would appreciate any thoughts or experiences with these devices. Also basic instructions on how these are hooked up. Thanks. Mike.

Since you already have the wierless router I'd go that route.
But, a wired solution is always better. You can always find a way to run Cat5e or 6.

CAT is sort for 'category' and the number represents the 'TIA/EIA standard ID'.

CAT6a may make you more future ready but you should be good with CAT5e; whatever fits in your personal budget and is readily available. But running cable is easy, cheaper than people think and a much better solution vs wireless; especially with the performance and reliability factored in.

just for your info, the limit on ethernet cable runs is 100 meters, or roughly 325 feet. most wireless does good to get half that! i just hooked up mine about 10 minutes ago, finally got motivated to run the cable--i've had everything for months and never did it.
