DTV wants $995 for their DVR. That was enough reason for me & I too came to Voom from DTV.

Free HD receivers and proven working HDDVR for over a year now. PQ a
smidget better. HDDVR $550 not $999 and apparently a rental HDDVR.
Programming a little less with Dish. As of today talks about taking
over some or all of the Voom orginals. How sweet that'll be finally be
able to record some of Vooms orginal programming.
