If you are not getting any signal at all, I bet it's one of the following:

1. You have an amplified antenna like Winegard Sensar II, but you are not supplying any voltage to it. If that's the case you need to buy a power supply.

2. Bad wiring or poor connection. Disconnect the RG6 cable from the box and connect it to the TV set directly: see if you can get any analog channels at all.

3. You have connected to a wrong connector: there are five cable-type connectors in the back of the DSR-550. You need to use the right-most one (if you look from the back).
