[VOOM] Latest status of oly coverage

I get my local nbc sd(2-1) programming which during primetime includes oly
coverage. I also get the stuff on cnbc(410),bravo
SD(502),msnbc(409),usa(522)... all in SD of course. Until about 9pm
yesterday my 2-2 was the opening ceremony in HD. Then it turned into games
in HD and is still showing the same repeat feed in HD. I do not get 321,593
or 594 (call voom msg)

So bottom line, the only HD coverage of the olympics is via my OTA and it's
a repeat feed.

Is anyone else getting any HD coverage other than what I said above????

Robert

I doubt that an affiliate is going to let someone get a sat sd feed of
an out of market Olympic feed if that affiliate is broadcasting the
signal in its analog form. There is no law requiring SD yet. And the
affiliate would theoretically lose revenue due to users not watching
their in market commercials.

If that were the case then I should be entitled to another feed of the
WB network because the local here isnt in HD. But I dont see that
happening.... ever. The FCC is far from adressing that yet.

Nope...same as your situation. Sacramento, CA. I called VOOM and got the same story. I get to watch repeat stuff on my 65" TV while my neighbor gets to watch somewhat current events on his 19" TV. Such is life.

Once again, nothing is stopping you from hooking up your antenna to your TV.
It is your local NBC affiliates decision whether they wish to broadcast
their SD content digitally or not.

I just did that. I hooked up a line to the back of the TV since it has a couple extra inputs. My neighbor let me put a splice from his cable line to me (only costs a 6 pack and 150" of line). It works.
