[VOOM] New Promotions start 8/01/04

I guess buy your statments that you are new to the cablevision umbrella,
They can call it what they want it is still a Cablevision co. and they tend to
be the first to raise the rates and the last to add the new services,
everthing is add-hoc to them, $5 for this and $5 for that. I hope it fails and one of
the MORE customer friendly co's takes it over. $115.00 per month for the
VAVA-VOOM pkg w 2 rental receivers is very steep in today's market. PLUS you
still need the family service for the kids TV's and add the online service
that's just over $200.00 a month for them and they will not discount anything.

if they give you a problem, just ask to talk to a supervisor and explain nicely that they will not give you any problem if they want to keep your business.

Hi Group,

A quick note to let you know, the pricing structure is changing in a
fairly sweeping way. 12:00 AM 08-01-04 for all time zones.

These changes will not affect current customers, so long as you
'DO NOT CHANGE YOUR SERVICES' ahem. I didn't mean to yell, but this
is a very important point."

dragonldy_mom -
I know that you have no say in the matter, but why are we told of
this the day of the change? Shouldn't we get advance notice so we
can decide if we want to change before the deadline? AN EMAIL OR A
POST TO THIS LIST BEFORE THE CHANGE TAKES EFFECT WOULD BE BASIC
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GOOD BUSINESS. ahem. I didn't mean to yell,
either, but this is just common sense.

I was thinking of changing my pluspack, but now I am stuck with what
I have.

I'll look into that for you Ken. I'm not sure on the dropping of
programing.

[VOOM] Re: New Promotions start 8/01/04

I've had Voom for about 2 months and since I kept my cable for the
channels that Voom doesn't offer, I'm fairly satified at the price
of the Voom package at $39.95. If I had to pay just $10.00 more, I
would have opted out and waited for HD Cable (Which I heard just
came available this week). I think I'm going to wait it out
cautiously and see what Voom has to offer in the next few months. I
noticed that they added channel 522 USA recently.

From reading this thread I don't get how some one claims that they have a $200 month cable bill. I had Voom for 10 days back in April and currently have Brighthouse and my total bill including Road Runner is $142.00 a month. That is with the HD receiver, and a DVR receiver. and 4 premium movie channels with VOD. Total HD Channels is 15 and ESPN HD is due to be available when football season starts. And is is strongly suggested by the CSR that the HD DVR should be available in October.

Of course going by a CSR is not very reliable at times for soon to be released products/channels.
