[VOOM] Sparklies, Volume, EquatorHD problem - will new software fix?

Hi:
I read Wilt's post that the new software corrects the "microstutter"
problem. Will the new software fix the white spaklies on certain SD
channels, the low volume problem on some SD channels, the "vibrating
pixels" problem on EquatorHD, and the "stuck pixel" problem?
Sincerely,
Joseph Nardone

since I never see those other problems with OTA channels (only microstutters), I don't think a s/w update will fix them. As crappy as the motorola box is, I don't think you can blame all the problems on it. Those problems are probably from the transmitting end.

What? Don't you mean scrap some Cinema10 slots and redistribute that b/w??

They won't do it. It'll put a chink in their 21 exclusive channels marketing.

I think they should scrap all the SD channels to get more bandwith, after all this is an HD service, so leave the HD channels alone (all of them)... get the bandwith somewhere else...

[VOOM] Re: Sparklies, Volume, EquatorHD problem - will new software fix?

Scraping the SD's would never happen, VOOM couldn't survive without
them. Not every member in all the households VOOM serves cares about
HD only... Be it wives in-laws children etc.. Leasing the satellite
space for Oct. should help with all bandwidth issues dont you
think ???

I'm not really against SD... I watch TCM, AMC, A & E,ESPN2, TVLAND and Hallmark quite frequently (the sooner they become HD, the better)... my point is, leave the HD channels alone, because their are some of us who prefer HD (crappy or not) and there's just not that many of them... besides, personally I think the more channels, the more choice, because as many channels as their are, there are times when I can't find anything to watch... and finally, I do think the new satellite space will help, only for a very short time though, their will NEVER be enough space to please anybody, much less everybody...

So the answer to the original question is NO. Even though VOOM knows about the Volume problem and the Sparklies on some SD channels they are not going to bother fixing them??

The original question was whether the software will fix these problems. The answer maybe yes/no. Some are related while others are not. No where has VOOM or Wilt said that they are not going to fix the problems. They are working on them as far as I know.

I agree. VOOM is working VERY VERY HARD on many new changes and let's not
forget the launch of the 2nd SAT in October. If anyone thinks for a minute
VOOM is sitting on their rears and don't care whether something doesn't
work, they're SMOKIN something!

Like Sean said, VOOM is an infant child and we have have many great things
to look forward to as she grows up ;-)

I thought that the sat is actually up already...its just that Voom is going to begin using the sat in OCtober. Am I correct on this...or is the sat going to actually launch in OCtober?

Yes, satellite is at 72 degree already. VOOM is just leasing the 13-16 Tps.

I think we took a step back, this morning I noticed sparklies and lines returning to my CNN Headline News channel... wierd.

Well this patch fixed a lot, no more microstutters, volume problems still exist... do Voom execs even know that there's a growing number of people that to see more b/w distributed per HD channel though?

Im finding it hard to stop laughing. They are leases. Voom has no money to build anotehr satellite. lmao. They barely have enough to secure bank loans for the spinoff.
