[VOOM] Use of This Forum

I know I'm probably going to offend some but here goes:

I live in FL and subscribed to VOOM about 3 months ago. Yes, the
installation was pushed back by about 3 days...big deal. The guy
came late in the day, when most companies would have quit and went
home. He worked till after 7:30PM to install my VOOM.

He was very knowledgeable about high def. When he left ALL was well
and HAS BEEN EVER SINCE. I get All my local channels (although I
already had an exterior OTA antenna with mast mounted amp).

My VOOM experience has been VERY POSITIVE. Yes, it was annoying
that the program guide always went to 100, but the latest software
has fixed that.

Now to my point... I joined this forum in order to stay abreast of
latest changes, upcoming channels, events, digital recording ...etc.

I am sick and tired of listening to all the bad mouthing and bitching
that goes on here! Therefore, I have suspending mailing of the daily
digest of messages and will just check the forum from time to time
and using search, maybe I can filter out all the Bul@hit.

Hear hear JD. Coudn't agree more. The only life some people have is to
bitch and there seems to be alot of that here. Yes some have
legitimate complaints. If they are so unhappy then why are they
wasting their money on Voom. Try DirecTv or Dish with their eight
channels of HD. I guess many folks expect perfection straight out of
the shoot. Wonder how perfect they are? I too only check in
periodically to see if there is any intelligent conversation or
constructive help in some of the issues. Unfortunately, this forum is
mainly a bitch session. It's no wonder Wilt and the Voom folks avoid
it. Happy viewing. I too have had no problems since installation about
three months ago.

I thought this was America where you can say what you want. Oh!! I forgot... We have the Bush Justice Department and we can't say what we want anymore.

Seriously, what would really cut down on the complaints, is if VOOM was more honest and open about the plans they already announced in the mass media in press releases.

DVR

dish Upgrade

Why VOOM PQ is technically superior to D* or E* and rivals OTA. Bandwith

WM9 or MPEG4

ETC.

The more open you are the more trust and loyalty you will build and I don't mean giving away competitive secrets. Just update on the ones they already announced would be fine. It certainly would cut down on the rumors and mis-information. use their newsletter for someting more informative as well.

We can still say what we want...Look at the Kerry propaganda machine and the stories they tell.

I'll bite my tongue rather than start on Bush bashing ;-)

Can we at least keep the political and religious topics out of here? That's
just a train wreck looking for a place to happen. There are other, more
appropriate forums and mailing lists for those debates.

If people at Voom want to fix the problems we subs have they sure as hell should at least read this forum. Post or not it's up to them.

Should we be silent? Never. I was told when I signed up in May that the Voom DVR was coming in "late August-early Sept.". Yaeh, right.

You know what..we all take back- all the complaints: Voom is doing great and has a 1% churn rate.

[VOOM] Re: Use of This Forum

I was also told that as well. In addition I was told by June they
would have a stand-a-lone, not networked version that they could get
out sooner.

Do you know if Tivo is coming out with there own HD DVR that is not
solely for Direct TV.? It would be nice to have the flexibility to be
abe to use such an expense unit with various sattelite and/or cable
providers.
