I'm not to sure what to say here, but I am in need of help with my
situation with VOOM. Everytime it rains even a little or even if
there is a thunderstorm on the horizon my picture freezes up and I
get no signal. I have asked VOOM about a larger dish to help with
the rain fade and all I get is that it is an experiment and not
available in my area. I believe a larger dish will help with my
problem since I came directly from C-band to VOOM. In the 10 years
of being a big dish owner I never lost my picture for any reason.

It's funny when I spoke with VOOM's CSA's I even offered to pay for
a dish but they still said no (at least to theirs). I was then told
that I can call when I do lose my picture and get a credit. They are
willing to do this which is crazy to me since in the long run a
larger dish will or should take care of any rain fade. I cannot find
a 30in dish anywhere locally. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm having problems with pixelation and momentarily freezing of Voom programming. I used to have Direct TV and have never had problem like this on their big oval dish. I called Voom to see if they can replace my dish to 30 inch dish but was told that it was only an experimental dish. I read here that some Voom subscriber had their standard dish replaced. Can someone help me on this, my wife is so annoyed of the momentarily pixelation and freezing that she's bugging me to return to Direct TV.

What is your signal strength?

Also try to realize that the signal only travels across country from various sources to VOOM, they process it and ship it out to a satellity thousands of miles in space which amplifies and re-transmits it to us. Now correct me if I'm wrong but that's a lot of stuff happening in less than 10 seconds..

Perhaps your dish needs to be peaked out, a simple service call should take care of it.. OR did they us a diplexor when they installed your stuff?? I would request it to be removed and 1 run of coax for sat and 1 for OTA be put in. The installers are instructed to run up to 4 runs of 100 feet each of NEW coax!

When mine was installed the guy said he HAD to remove my old coax, which had only been there a year, and run ALL NEW cable for SAT and OTA. Make them do what they are supposed to ... I read the install instructions it's right there in black and white!!!

=)
