-- Even if it's two dozen(being generous), that puts it just over 1% of the
subscribing members. Either some real quiet people out there or your
assumptions of how many dissatisfied customers there are is wrong. Remember
the 1 in 10 rule.
-- You weren't there for the first year of DirecTV, but seem to make the
assumption that they didn't have significant issues during that time. Their
boxes today still have bugs, delayed feature enhancements or features that
don't live up to their billing.

I sympathize with your frustration.....to a point. It seems if you're this
unhappy a simple phone call for an uninstall should have been made weeks
ago. What's the point of daily repetitive complaints to the list?
One of the classics of the week is the one where they guy is going to call
up and demand a new, bug free box or else. I think if he had read that one a
few more times before posting he might not have posted. It's like suggesting
Voom is just sitting on stable hardware and software, but only giving it out
to those who complain loudly and often. Pretty silly.
It's bleeding edge technology, kids. Part of the program(the OTA stuff) is
full of potential issues that are beyond Voom's control. I subscribe to a
regional HDTV list which has regular posts about OTA issues. These are
DirecTV setups, Dish setups, PC card setups and all things in between. Each
have their issues. Sometimes it's a local station hardware problem or human
error where someone literally forgets to throw the switch. Sometimes it's a
network feed problem. But no one gets upset, throws tantrums or makes
demanding requests to the broadcasters and most of them too are paying a
sizeable monthly program fee to one vendor or another. Seems to be a more
mature attitude where most of them recognize the bleeding edge nature of the
technology and are willing to roll with the punches while it develops. We
could use a good dose of that over here.
