[VOOM] What I miss about Voom

Watching the superbowl half-time show via time warner cable hd, it brings
back wonderful memories of Voom HD concerts. I sure miss the Rave channel!!
I really hope Voom releases their whole house DVR solution by uCentric(now
Motorola) so I join up again. The upside of watching the super bowl
half-time show is the fact it's recorded (in HD!) and I can watch it over
and over again <g>.

Unfortunately, I don't have a FOX affiliate here in Central NY that
broadcasts in HD at full power so I had to watch the blurry version.

Did ya'all see that lame ass direct-tv commercial with the guy going from
room to room with the newest tv for that time period? I was expecting it to
be for a plasma tv hanging on the wall for Sony or somebody.. not lame ass
direct-tv. What do they have to offer today that they didn't offer 4 years
ago? nothing! They're the same ol direct tv with the same b.s. compression
as cable tv and same b.s. billing rates as cable tv. If they came thru with
the 500 hd channels and whole home solution dvr..TODAY.. then the commercia=
l
would have had meaning. But today's direct tv isn't that. It's as bad if no=
t
worse than cable tv. Nice commercial, wrong ending.

I had to cancel. Finally had enough and went with Dish. I will miss a
lot about Voom as well but I know I wont miss the double billing without
any recourse, and the $10 per month increase without even any notice. I
have been loyal to voom through some tough times and I wish them well,
but they need to figure out how to take better care of customers. The
CSR's have been great and I know it is not their fault..just had enough.

[VOOM] Re: What I miss about Voom

Well I am leaving for a different reason, Cost. I ordered the total=20
package from the cable company. This includes cable phone and data=20
service as well as digital HD cable with a DVR. The savings per month=20
are substantial over DSL local telephone service and long distance=20
carrier charges and Voom.=20=20=20

The one thing that we did not like about Voom was the OTA local=20
channels reception. Not Vooms fault, but there were a couple of=20
channels we were never able to receive and during bad weather other=20
local channels were touch and go.=20

RE: [VOOM] Re: What I miss about Voom

Save yourself some more money.. get the cable modem and the hd dvr from the=
m
but don't get their phone service. Since you're getting cable modem, you ca=
n
get Vonage with every single available phone feature there is for $24.99 a
month. Vonage beats them by ATLEAST 15 dollars a month.
