I have a curious question. Unlike DirecTV and Dish Network, all Voom boxes are HD right.
Then why does Voom have both HD and SD channels for HBO, HBOW, ESPN, TNT, Cinemax,
Starz, Encore, etc. To me, the HD signal is enough. The Voom box can decode that and
give it in one of the four supported resolutions (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i) to the TV. The
channels I mentioned above have the same program simulcast in HD and SD. I can
understand if the HD feed is different from SD (like the Discovery channel).
Anyone have any explanations? Wilt?
