VOOM without Phone Connection?

Is it possible to get VOOM without a telephone connection to each receiver? If not what happens if the telephone is disconnected? If they turn off the programming, how long does the dial tone have to be AWOL? what is the process to get the programming turned back on?

Although it is formally required in the contract, the phone line is not currently used for anything. My box was never connected to the phone line until they added the CallerID feature...

I have had VOOM for over a year and just added 2 more receivers and never once had a phone line hooked up.
