Hey everyone,
Out of curiosity, I installed a 1.65 meter (5.4 ft.) fixed prime focus dish to find out how small of a dish can be used to receive HITS on W5. Low and behold, after aligning and tweaking the dish, I was able to get quality levels anywhere from 45% to 75% with most channels 60% and higher on a DSR-922 which requires at least 35% for a stable picture. These numbers are not bad as i'm currently using a 17K C-Band LNBF and I'm located in Canada. I imagine a 1.5 meter dish could possibly work as well if a good quality 13K LNBF is used.
This is good news as the smaller the dish, the easier it is to convince some people to go ahead with this service.
