My setup has been on the post for almost a month now (if not a month!) and I am finally going to align it. The only problem I have is that the cable going from the motor to the receiver has been disconnected for that period. The motor end was connected to the positioner, but the receiver end has been sitting on the deck - and it's snowed since then. If I brush off the snow from the connector, and perhaps let it sit for some time and see if there's any water in the cable, should I be safe connecting it to my receiver? Thank you.

Yes!, let it dry out as long as you can before you plug it in, and a spray of WD-40 will help. When I worked in cable I went to a home where they reported bad picture quality, I removed the face plate and disconnected the cable and a stream of water poured down from the roof, through the cable : ) Had to be re-wired, good luck!
