Weird occurrence on CHANNEL 351 C-SPAN

Anyone notice that JUST on channel 351 C-Span that it is currently FTA? Meaning that any access card inserted into the receiver will work. I put in an inactive card into my HR24 and 351 came in just fine. Weird. Maybe an issue on DTV’s end? Enjoy it while you can if you need to test receivers. Do it now!

Interesting... but on DIRECTV though I wouldn't expect them to just decrypt it out of the blue? Hopefully it stays like this.

A common misconception. CSPAN receives no government money at all. Rather cable and satellite companies (that is the “C” and the “S” in the name) fund it as a public service.

but they are classed as PI channels on directv.
