What Are the Benefits of the Mio Over Other Receivers?

I had planned on making 2 of the same image. One with C Band sats and the other KU sats and switching between them. Is there any reason that I cannot do this with the unit that I just got? (I'm still reading and have not powered it up yet.)
what would be the advantage of doing that? why not have all on the same image?

Yes, that would work fine for scanning/viewing.

The shortcoming of separating bands between images is that you couldn't set-up scheduled timers to switch between the two images for recording.

The great thing about the OS Mio 4k's four multiboot slots is that these options are even possible! So easy to switch between operating systems by simply rebooting the receiver. It's like owning 4 different STBs!
Cool! I rarely watch KU and do very little timed recording, so the one that I just got will work great for me. Thanks!

Too many choices in the window. Right now I have KU sats on my Linkbox and C Band sats on my Amiko. I was selecting the wrong band about 50% of the time when I had both bands together.

The OS Mio is the finest receiver of any kind that I've ever owned. If you ever change your mind, you won't be disappointed :)

I had tested the U4 Quad and the reoccurring slow navigation in the GUI was frustrating. Combined with the sloth speed blind scan, I feel your pain. Didn't shed many tears to upgrade. LOL!

The 64 bit processor in the Mio makes for an enjoyable experience. It is the first E2 STB that I have used that not only equaled, but surpassed appliance type STBs in operation and performance. But, if you are happy with your current STB, why upgrade? :)

The OS Mio+ 4K with dual tuners will be released in September, 2019.
This is great news. :)
Price of the dual tuner MIO will likely be at least $100 or more higher than the single tuner version. IMO, of course. Doubtful it'll be cheaper anyway.
Since the unneeded DVB-T2 tuner will be replaced by a second S2 tuner, maybe it won't be a big price difference. I would guess the production cost is similar.

I'm not all that happy with my current receiver. I just like having dual tuners. If the price is reasonable I'll probably buy the dual DVB-S2 OS Mio when its available.

How do you know it won't have two satellite tuners, AND a DVB-T2 tuner? After all, it's made for European use, and that's their market...

I'm really liking the way the Edision interacts with the PC. The PC has several displays connected. Projectors and a big screen TV. I can so easily use the Edision for the signal source and watch on any of my displays that I hardly use the PC tuner anymore. :)

I'm going to put on my newbie hat as I'm 4k DVB receiver shopping and as best I can tell that means an E2 box and not Android . As it looks like many receivers have options to run same E2 builds, what exactly separates one E2 DVB receiver from the other? I know there must be some hardware differences, maybe like a dell vs. HP computer both running Windows? I'm inclinded to get a Mio 4k because I like every product ever purchased from Titanium, I'd just like to learn advantages/disadvantages. Not trying to stir any debate but what are pros/cons of Mio 4k vs. Octagon (SF4008/8008) or Dreambox One Ultra?

Biggest advantage of the Edision OS Mio receivers? The FACT that Titanium is selling them HERE, in the USA and fully supporting them for the U.S. hobbyists.

That's all you need to know, to make an informed decision.

I've owned the Os Mio for a year now, and hands down, it's the best receiver I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty of them. There is a learning curve, but once you are past that, you'll love it.

I totally appreciate the enthusiastic support, prefer to buy products from Titanium and while product satisfaction is always good to hear could you please provide objective advantages or reasons why it is preferable over another E2 receiver, such as Octagon? I know you meant well but advising someone to buy brand X without justification is sort of like saying just vote for (Fill in the blank) because he/she is a member of the (fill in blank) party ;)

I also use the OS Mio for satellite and OTA recording. Another big advantage of the Mio (at least in my opinion) is that the TNAP images on the Mio are developed and maintained here in North America with specific modifications for this continent instead of Europe or Asia. Or, if you prefer, you can load the E2 image of your choice in one of the available slots and and run that.

Boot troubles

Where is the SatDreamGR North America Image ?
