Currently, I have Super Dish which received 110, 119 and 121 satelites. I am using DPP44 switch with DP721 receiver.

I would like to get HD channels and I am aware that I need at least HD receiver. Do I have to get Dish network receiver to get their HD channels or i can get receivers like coolsat and others. My question is do I need HD dish (like 1000.2) as well?

Thank you,

Yes or depending upon your DMA a 1000 plus...What large city do you live near?..That will help determine which dish you need

I live in Atlanta Suburb, Marietta (30064) in specific. SO are you saying I have to have 1000.2 dish to get the HD channels?

I live in an Augusta GA suburb about 150 miles east of you. I use 61.5 to get my HD channels. You should be able to hook up a second dish to your DP44 and get a very strong signal or you could get a 1000.2 and probably get a decent signal on 129. I have a dish 300 for my 61.5 satellite, and a 1000.2 in order to pick up 129, 110 and 119.

You need an HDTV, too. ;) But I guess you knew that.

Yes.

No.

There is really no such thing as an "HD dish". Any dish, pointed at the proper satellites, will receive the HD channels. You need to be pointed at either 61.5 or 129, and also pointed at 110 to receive all the HD programming E* has to offer.

Thank you,

What are you using 121 for? Internationals??

Thank you everybody for your help. Yes, I am geting few international channels as well. So International channels should be available through 110, 119 or 129?

It depends on which international channels you are getting. They are either on 121, 118.7, or 61.5. Here's an idea...call 1800-333-3437, they will answer all your questions.

Yes..Atlanta HD locals are on the 129 sat...A dish 1000 is ok but I recommend the Dish 1000.2..iti s alarger antenna and pull;s the 1289 in much better than the D-1000...In fact my opinion of the D-1000 antenna is it is best used for a bird bath

Thanks, I know I have seen all channels and the satellites they could be viewed. Does any one has a link to it?
Thank you,
