What is the ugliest passenger car ever?

This car isn't that bad,,, Is it??

Well considering what it was in the 60's and early 70's and what it became, I'd say it's more like an abomination. It's not a terribly ugly car but considering it's heritage, it's kind of a joke. Aside from the fact that it's named after a classic muscle car but isn't anywhere near the caliber of the original, it's not a bad looking car for the time. I think it's already been said that perhaps for the time some of these cars weren't ugly but by our standards now they may be.

BINGO!

I had a friend in New Orleans growing up whose family had one of these. Hydraulic suspension. You started the car, and waited for it to lift up. Plush seats.

They were the ONLY people in New Orleans to have one. Probably the only one for several hundred miles around. Specially imported. There was only ONE guy in town willing to work on it. And work on it he did. They finally got tired of it being in the shop so much, and he made them an offer that they accepted. He got a car he knew how to work on, and they got rid of it. I wonder which of them was happiest?

They also had a Simca, a very small car with very small tires (12"?). IIRC, the following year you could no longer sell or import cars with tires that small. They didn't keep it long. Looked similar to the below:

...
I bought one of those sight unseen in Crete with my re-enlistment bonus money in 1974. Came back to CONUS to pick it up, drove it for a year, didn't like it. :( It wasn't ugly, just not a very good car. Reminded me of the Gran Torino.

The Ford Flex.

It looks like Ford stole Scion's look and mixed in a little "short bus" (the kind that drives Senior Citizens throughout the community). I'd rather be caught driving a mini-van or station wagon with wood trim instead of this God awful thing.....

Q: Does this thing have a disco ball inside and does it play loud techno music whenever you put the keys in the ignition?

Don't make fun of until you actually drive one. I like my Box cars:D

here's another look at the MATADOR.A matador, lit. killer, (from late Latin "matare," to subdue or kill) is considered to be both an artist and an athlete, possessing great agility, grace, and coordination. yeah right :D

A Yugo was ugly, A Gremlin and Pacer were odd but fun cars. A Mustang II was ugly, Ford Taurus was ugly, Chevy Avalanche, Chevy Lumina, Nearly any Minivan...

Is there a bathroom in that Flex?

No but there is a minifridge:up

My fav quote from an Edmunds reveiw
But appearance is reality. So if you drive a minivan, then you're a suburban mom. If you drive a crossover, then you're a suburban mom who doesn't want to appear to be one. If you drive a Flex, then you're — what? — a weird suburban mom? Whatever, because Jim Farley, Ford's new chief of marketing newly arrived from Toyota, believes there will be more than 100,000 new Flex drivers each year. That's pretty bold.

New candidate, on the plus side, it only cost $2500.

Didn't they abandon manufacture of this?

They said, just a few days ago, that the commercial launch is set for March 23, 2009.

Interesting. I wonder what such a car, altered to meet US safety and emissions standards, would cost in the US?
