Hi all,

I would like to know which satellite shall I point to to get Channel 450-454?

I checked the Lyngsat site, I think it is 119? Can anyone confirm?

And can I just use a single LNB with a small dish (I have one spare sitting in my garage, it was my old Dishnet dish) pointing to 119 to get the signal for these channels instead of the triple LNB set up?

Thank you in advance for your help...

Thanks guys for confirming 119 for the chan 450-454.

Can I use a single LNB (which I used to use for my Dishnet in the past) to point and get signal from 119 instead of using a 3 or 5 LNB?

Thanks

If you are using one of the newer receivers with the APG (advanced prog guide) it will not work w/out a signal from the 101 bird. When you start up these newer receivers, they have to download the prog guide & will not get past this until they do, regardless if you need 101 or not.

I am planning on using a basic receiver. Do I still need the 101?

If so, can I just install two LNBs, one for 101 and one for 119 side by side?

Do I require a bigger dish (like a Dish 500 of Dishnet)?

My goal is to be able to get ch 450-454 without haveing to buy new hardwares (dish, LNB and switches etc).

Thanks again for helping!!

"Basic" doesn't really tell me much - a model# would help ;)
If it's a receiver made within the past 3-4 years, then yes, you do need 101.

If you mean 2 DISHES with 2 LNB's, yes - but you'll still need a switch.
A 2x1 switch would work fine & they can still be found for about $10-$15

No, 2 18" dishes will work

I would recommend to use regular Phase III DTV dish, regrdless of intention to skip 110W. Switch already there, 101W and 119W will be served well.

Receiver model is D11. Can I use one LNB only points to 119? Kindly confirm.

Thanks again for you guys help!

No, no & no - it will NOT work!

Take P Smith's advice & just get a new oval dish & be DONE with it.
They do not cost THAT much & it's all integrated & ready to go. About what you would pay for an external switch & 2nd dish. ;) ;)
