Hey guys I have a few questions about the xbox 360. I picked up a elite version on ebay a while back that was made in feb 2008 so its the falcon chip. I have the receipt and its in warrenty.

While playing different games I sometimes see these tiny dotted white lines going across the screen horizontally. I thought maybe it was my tv but the xbox is the only HD device that does it. Using 720p or 1080i makes no difference. While playing Halo 3 these lines get much bigger and are a pink color . Is this a known defect anyone has seen? How big of a pain is it to get a box warrentied for a problem like this?

Just give them a call, they'll take you through any steps we'd tell you here.

It may be a video output issue, and the reason they are inconsistent is games output different resolutions, so they same flaw could appear different throughout different games.

Try a different video cord/port.

What kind of LCD you have, I mean which brand. Are you using the HDMI ouput? A similar situation happenned to me from Nov 07- Jan 08. I bought a Samsung 40" LCD back in Sept 08, but I didn't realized that the LCD had handshakes issues with the 360 until I sold my Premium and got an Elite, so I can be able to use HDMI. I upgraded the software of the LCD but didn't help. On another forum there were numerous posts regarding this kind of problem for different brands, but in my case it was a manufacturing issue, a bad board so went to Sears and got the new model, which price tag was over $500 less than the old one. I got me a PS3 just for the fun of it.
So I don't think that the problem lies on ths Elite, try the component output if your current connection is the HDMI. Also if your LCD is software upgradable, try that following your manufacturer procedures..

My HDTV is a older Sony 53" non LCD model. It does not have HDMI only component. I may have to try another component cord. I previously had a non elite version xbox 360 that did not have this issue. It does appear that some games are worse than others.
