Address Broker to check your qualification for Out of Market Dish Network Locals (DishNets). Be sure to use your full 9 digit zip code for the very best accuracy.
For Distant locals, you have to be "unserved", in a "white area", been granted waivers, or have a truck/RV exemption. Address Broker can only determine "white area" eligibility. You may need a signal test to be classified as "unserved", and you can get RV and truck info at the On The Road Page.
If you fail to qualify for distant locals, you can request waivers through a CSR at Dish Network. This may take six to eight weeks, and if you're in poor terrain or at the fringe of your local's countours,
they might cut you a break and grant your waiver.
Check on your
waiver request
If your waivers are denied, you may request a signal test, but don't expect anything to happen quickly. The wheels of government grind slowly, and working out the fine details takes a while. Procedures are still "under consideration" with regards to the details of the signal test. Some progress has been made, but currently it's not worth the effort to try to get a signal test.
