ON Home I am in one of the areas where Dish provides local service, and understand that local channels are now available on Dish. Can someone tell me what is needed to make this happen???
DishNets require that you own a Dish 500 or the equivalent of two Dishes pointing at 119° and 110°. All new Dish Systems come with a Dish 500 and switches. To check and see if you have a Dish 500, tune to channel 9900. If you can see it, you have a Dish 500.
Some local cities have additional local channels on the side slots (148° and 61.5°). See the
dish locals page to see if your city has additional locals on the side slots. If it does, you can call Dish and ask them for a free dish and installation to get your additional locals. You will need to tell the CSR a specific channel you want to see.
