Guy is out now installing my Dish. I am so happy :). But he confirmed that the last guy was just running from the job. (last Friday).

He said that around here installers hate putting up the 1000.2 dishes.

Fairview heights, IL.

Oh well. I am just happy to be away from Charter.

I apologize. He put up a dish 1000+ not a dish 1000.2 (more oval shaped). those are the ones they don't like to install.

heh, still n00b here. soz.

But he is doing a great job got a 97 on his signal meter from the dish. I'm so excited. :)

Just wanted to say. Guy did a great job on the install end.

Getting signals in the 97% range.

He didn't have any Component or HDMI cables though. So I guess I need to buy some through newegg.

I was shocked they don't have the component cables boxed with the 722. *shrug*

It's policy for "internal" technicians to supply either a component or HDMI/DVI cable solution for every HD install.

97 on what? Go into the signal strength page on the receiver and check a few TP's on each satellite and report them here.

Are the Dish 1000 Plus dishes harder to install than what the SuperDishes were? I always hated installing SuperDishes as 105 was hard to pull in at times.

1000.2's are freakin CAKE! Try putting up 1000PLUS's all day
Yeah..really.....I consider a D1000.2 to be easier than a d-500..Piece of cake..It's the d-1000 plus that is a time consuming operation..Not a lot of fun....I am in one of the 6 DMA's that bounce their HD locals off the 118.7.....Lots of fun.

I have to put up 2 1000+'s tomorrow.

I feel like calling off. lol
As a contractor I would leap at two D-1000 plus deals..Yes it's all day but they pay more than d-500's. You guys have it easier than we do. No basements here. Most newer homes are built on slabs or crawl spaces. Very steep roof pitches. But most homes less than 15 years old are pre wired...Just be glad yer not doing two DTV HD installs. Two cables to each DVR pus phone lines and they pay less...At least Mastec does...Way less.. Half in fact..
Are you a DNSC tech?...If so, call in sick..Those guys get $11.75 an hour here...Top out at $14/hr..I wouldn't even open one eye to look at the alarm clock for that....

The assembly and mount time is about the same. Personally I've found the SD105 to be the most difficult dish to actually aim and pull in. If anything I'd say the D1000+ is analogous to the SD121. YMMV

What satellite position is that 118? 119? 110? 129?

Post a few TP's from each satellite that you can lock on to.

Give me directions and I will post every number you want. lol.

I told you I am a n00b at this. But loving the Dish so far
