When was this offer effective (started)? When I called late last week they charged me $119 for (what I'm assuming is) a 522--won't find out until Sunday and I never even got the option to get a 625. No sign of the offer on the website either. Since I'm still 3+ days off from the install can I call and change it?

Yeah call in we can change it to the 625 or adjust the price. This went effective the 17th of december.

Is there a name the promotion is going under (that I should ask for) or will the CSR know what the heck I'm talking about right off? Just want to be sure to have my ducks in a row in the event I get one of the clueless reps.

Its 3 holiday gifts for our customers---They really should know its pasted all over our update page. Just ask for someone who knows if they give ya a " Blank stare".

I called and was told that the remote control replacement doesn't cover remotes that were damaged by the customer. Unfortunately, that means they won't be replacing my remote that was chewed up by my dog. The best they would do is send a new battery cover.

Called...selected option 3 (Tech Support)...agent knew nothing about the offer, but was able to look it up...15 minutes later she was ready to send me the remote when the line went dead...called back and selected Billing...CSR didn't have a clue, but was able to look up the promotion...10 minutes later she transferred me to Tech Support before they could complete the order...went though the automated troubleshooting of my broken remote before being transfered to an agent...told same story of broken remote and promotion offer for 3rd time...the agent was unaware of the customer appreciation offer, but he managed to find it in the system after a few minutes...agent could not replace remote since I needed to be standing in front of the TV with the dead remote.

Anyway, he noted my account and I will call in later this evening. I talked to a supervisor and asked that Tech Support be made aware of this special Christmas Offer for Dish Network's most valued customers. He said it would be briefed and the word disseminated. Hopefully, in the future one call into Tech Support (Option 3) will solve the problem. Just make sure you are standing in front of your TV with the broken remote so they can waive the cost of the remote along with shipping & handling.;)

Called in and (hopefully) got my 625...CSR did have to look up the promo but verified that it was $129 ($29AR), and in fact I did have a 522 down on my account to be installed (good thing I called to verify and change it!). 50 extra hours was definitely worth the added $10.

Thanks ddgtomahawk for posting!

Later that night....

OP: "Sir are you standing infront of your tv with the remote in hand?"

CS: "Yes I have it right here with me"

OP: " Is the tv on? If not be sure to turn it on and the receiver as well"

CS: " Ok both are on now what?"

OP: " Now I need you to take off your clothes"

CS: "........ok what's this got to do with the remote?"

OP: "Sir please do as I ask so I can complete the process"

CS: " Ok Im naked "

OP: " Now I need you to set the remote down, go outside and check the dish and the cables on the house to make sure they are all intact and there are no sparks."

CS: "Why do I have to be naked for this?"

OP: "Because we have had problems with the remotes not working lately and we dont want your clothes to catch on fire from the sparks, it would be a shame if we lost a customer like that"

CS: " Ok I'll go check"

OP: " It might help you to stay calm if you sing Sexy back by Justin Timberlake, the song has a calming effect on people studies show"

CS: " Ok I'll do that, be back in about 5 mins"

OP: Thats fine, just call us back and ask for Timmy, OP ID pwnd." Click

Yeah and the 625 seems to be more reliable!!!, RIFFJIM4069 Next time you call ask for a TSR III to get this resolved quickly please dont abuse asking for them but you should not have to go through that I am really sorry to hear it!!!

Thank you for the info!!!
I would like to upgrade to HD, so I understand that if I want a HD DVR 622 and a 510 DVR, they will be free after rebates, right?

My problem is that I know I need another dish pointing at 61.5 for HD Locals and other channels, but i heard that in my area there are reports of bad installations (Gaithersburg, MD. 20878), so is there anyway you could recommend me good installers in my area.

Thank you

Would I be able to trade in my ViP622 and dual tuner SD box for a ViP722 and dual tuner HD (non DVR) box???

Thanks for this information ... This was a very pleasant surprise - both the offer and the service. Very helpful CSR - who knew about the offer and the site as well. It really seems to be a case of CSR roulette

:)

How about additional channels as a gift

I would rather see additional channels added, specifically Comcast Sports Net Northwest. It doesnt seem to me like the negotiations are progressing anywhere with getting this much needed channel added. Ive been waiting for months now for this to get added to the Sports Pack, and I dont know if its a case of Dish not seeing the value of adding this or what the deal is, but it sure is getting frusterating for us in the Northwest that are sick of getting bombarded with mainly Seattle area sporting news off of Fox Sports Northwest.

Replace 522 with 625

I currently own a 522 2-tuner SD DVR, which I am satisfied with.

Is there any benefit to upgrade to the 625 for only $19.00 mentioned in this mail? Additional Features, etc?

Thanks
