Is it possible to put up a single dish and single LNB to get 72.7 and use a DP21 switch for the 61.5 and 72.7 into 1 line and then run that line into the input on the DISH 500 Twin LNB and have 4 sats?..

Hunter,

It is possible to use 119/110/61.5/72.7 satellites in your installation.

Your solution to add two orbital slots to your 119/110 installation will not work. The only two ways to get Four Orbital slots is 1) a DP34 switch using a DP21 for the fourth orbital slot but you only get the Fourth Orbital slot on up to to receivers, 2) Get a DPP44 Switch and connect one Feed from each Orbital slot (you have to connect both outputs of your Dish Pro Twin) to the DPP44 switch.

The DPP44 is the simplest and best solution to your proposed installation.

Did it today... Put up a 110.4 Ran 2 lines from 61.5 and 72.7 Then put up a 500 for 119/10.. 4 lines to a DPP 44 Switch. You need a DPP 44
You must mean a 1000.4. I think I'd like to do that here, but there is no way I am going up on my roof in it's present condition. How are you able to do this with so much snow? I presume you really are doing this work in northern VA...

A three dish solution is what tech told me I need here in northern Vt. Right now I'm 110/119 with 61.5 wing. He wants a third pointing at 72.7, whatever

In central PA the original plan was to install a 3rd dish, but I stressed that I REALLY didn't want a third dish. The tech made some calls and was able to talk out the following solution...1000.4 for 61.5 and 72.7 to replace my 61.5 dish, an existing Dish 500 pointing to 110/119, and a DP-44 switch to tie it all together. Works great!

The tech mentioned that they've never really used the 1000.4 because there was never any real reason to pick up 72.7 until now. He expected to be doing a lot of these installs...

This is my plan also.....

Received my 1000.4 and dpp44 yesterday. Hope the weather is halfway decent this weekend. Take down my single pointed at 61.5 and put up the 1000.4 for 61.5 and 72.7. Already have the 100/119. Everything into the dpp44 in the basement and hopefully everything works good...

Did he use the 3 lnb arm or a different one? The tech i had today did not know how to add 110/119 to the 1000.4, he also thought we would not need it since we have EA plus 110, but now we are missing some SD channels, mainly want to be able to get IFC, we just switched from AT250 to Dish Latino MAX. So long story short they are coming back on Monday to check the signals, but I think the original CSR was right and we need 119. So just want to know what to tell the next tech that comes. Can we just leave up the 1000.4 with the 3 lnb arm and just not connect 77? And then run 110/119 to the DPP44 switch, or would that be run to the 1000.4 first like the 110 currently is?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry this is a little confusing to me - What I have now is a line runing from my 61.5 side dish on the house to my 110/119 dish (which is at least 50' away) then the 2 lines back into the house (only have 1 722 receiver). I would like to add another dish500 I have to get 72.7.

So are you saying to do this, run 1 line from each of the 61.5 and the 72.7 to a DPP44 switch and also the 2 lines from the 110/119 dish then from that into the receiver? If so then I would wonder what about the port the existing line from the 61.5 goes into now, would if just be left empty?

Only been with Dish a couple of years, before that was with Directv for about 10 years, never had all these issue with more than 1 dish and switche, so its confusing to me. Thanks for any help I can get.

Yes the port on the 110/119 dish that you run the 61.5 into will remain empty. The dpp500 lnbf on the 110/119 dish has a built in switch. That is why you can run the third sat into the LNBF run check switch and voila you see three sats. DPP44 switch will take the place of the built in switch thus the need to conenct the output for each sat you are looking at to the DPP44. Using this switch you could connect 4 VIP (dual tiunner) receivers and have a total of 8 tvs in operation.

Located in SE Pennsylvania, at present I have 110/119 and 61.5.
After sifting through this and a few other forum questions, can I conclude that if I install a dish 1000.4 (replace the 61.5) and feed the 110 into the open port that I will have all of my present channels and the New HD. (I believe the SD locals are on 110).

I'm assuming you're in the Scranton market. Are you getting your HD locals from 61.5? If so, the SD-only locals (WVIA, WSWB, WQMY) are also available to you from 61.5. The only reason you'd need to retain 110 is if you're in the part of the market that can't get locals from 61.5.

Well after looking at what the DPP44 would cost, thats out for me. That switch would be very much of a over kill for me since I only have 1 722, I will now have to look into another solution.

Im actually in the Philadelphia DMA, looking at the EKB it seems the non HD locals are on 110.

Your situation is probably different from the OP who needed to keep 110/119. If your locals are on 61.5, then you should get an upgrade to an eastern arc dish and be done with it.
